Contracts just ended - what's the best deal in everyone's opinion? iPhone is 'meh', WM is dead till WP7 and so android it is..

Bought the phone from them outright and then a 12m simplicity deal
Although the simplicity is 12 month if you work the numbers out for 18m it works out at about £30.85 per month. Phone can be upgraded after 9months due to the simplicity though and if kept for longer it only gets cheaper.

Had mine for 2 days now. Those that know me know how fussy I am about phones, but my verdict? - Probably the best phone I've ever had.
Very fast, very clear voice on calls, standard headphone jack (), beautiful screen....everything is just right.
I went on voda via phones4u.
300mins, 3000 texts, "unlimited" 500MB Fair Use internet (keep in mind about the recent proposed changes though) for £40 a month.
However, it's on a 12 month contract, with £40 cashback from Quidco and £120 from Phones4u.
That works out at £26.66 / month for 12 months, with the phone free
I was paying £15/month on Sim only with o2, so barely an extra tenner for a Desire on a 12 month contract was a no brainer.
Phone arrived in 2 days, with a pre 0.80 bootloader (not that I'm planning on rooting it....yet)
Bargain!
I'm tempted to get one and whack it on my virgin account I have.
I can get a nice deal atm for £25 a month with loads of minutes, texts and free calls from virgin landlines to mobile and vice-versa so I might give them a holler and see about getting one soon.

They started selling them last Monday but the site was only updated today.
I called them and told them I had been quoted the simplicity contract with the phone for £285 and they didn't have problems with it. Although she did say that she thought it was £375...
Typically I'll miss the delivery tomorrow and have about an hour to pick it up from dhl get home and get back out of the house as I leave to go do a 29mile walk on the sat; So no playing with the new toy till Sunday.

Mind you to be fair, the £285 over the equivalent term is £200 cheaper that I was contemplating and what makes it worse is the wife didn't kill - she just ordered one too!!!!!

Believe me you will not be worrying about justifying it once you get hold of it. It's easily the most impressive phone I have ever seen, the android + brilliant hardware combo is a total winner.

I went out and bought mine outright at the weekend..
Takes some getting used to from having piephones for the last few years.. but it just goes to show how "apple brainwashed" id become! - its taken me best part of a week to get it how i like it.. downloading apps to replace the core functions like email and sms, messing about, uninstalling and then rinse and repeat for everything on the market.
things like web-browsing just knock spots off the iphone, partly because of the resolution, partly the speed and partly because of the flash
Sure theres some things i miss from the piephone like angrybirds and bejeweled blitz.. but theres not really any dealbreakers.
