Re: The Official HTC Desire Thread

    Reflashed to LeeDroid 1.8a

Tried most of the ROMS find this fast and stable so went back to it from 1.8

Think flashing has become addictive for me.

v1.8b is out mate, I think I'm going to hold off on flashing to LeeDroid, seems to be a higher percentage of people having problems with v1.8b.

Re: The Official HTC Desire Thread

I think if you use adfree you risk jeopardizing the current model familiar with android market users where a paid for and an ad supported version of one app may be available? How do you expect developers to want to continue to support android if they are not financially supported themselves!

I'd rather not use it and continue to support the market and Its flourishing developers.

Agree with you completely... but it seems that ads are blocked in most custom roms...

(I do think it's ok to block ads on the browser though as it slows down browsing and worsens the browsing experience significantly)

Most custom ROMs block all ads by default. There is only a few that give you an option as to whether you want to block them or not.

Granted it takes a bit of reading, and this thread is some size now. But this has been discussed heavily recently.

In short, unbranded, non-network handsets have already been upgraded to 2.2. Network versions are on the way, some networks have already announced (like Vodafone and Orange) some haven't. But the pressure on them to upgrade everyone to 2.2 is very high.

Re: The Official HTC Desire Thread

I'm flashing OpenDesire now... realised that the only reason I was sticking with sense was the full screen weather widget... and tbh, it's not essential...

I look forward to more speed, more battery life, less bloat (I removed facebook and twitter) and launcher pro
