Re: The Official HTC Desire Thread

Must have been upgrade fever in the air last night
I went from the modaco R5 did a full back up and wipe 20 minutes later running the R8 with all the garbage taken out like facebook etc. Because I don't have a huge amount of apps I didnt bother cooking the room with appsd or appsd+ , it seems sometimes to cause more bother for some.

what rom are you trying to load ? did you get a cooked one with the radio update built in or have you done the radio first then new rom ?

watch for some as they require you to partition your SD card
give us a link to the rom you downloaded

I flashed the radio, I also partitioned my SD card. Took the battery out and tried to restart but it's still stuck on splash screen.

I had the same problem when first flashing my current ROM. Using the clockwork mod recovery menu, clear out all caches (dalvik included), user area, data etc etc.

I'd do both of them, you'll find the Dalvik option under the advanced menu IIRC.

How long have you left it? Trying leaving for at least 10 minutes. Then if that doesn't work, restart the flashing process. Go back into the clockworkd mod recovery menu, and select your zip file again.

Ok I'm back into the ROM but still have the same issue. I'll try titanium backup again

Do "we" think format's issues are as a result of the phone being Voda branded?

THe ROM installed initially with no trouble - it was only when I tried to do a Nandroid restore that it seemed to fail. Works fine now though

Hmm, going back through your posts of panic over the past few days I thought there were a lot of issues.
