You mean unrevoked? Yes, a lot of people have tried it with the desire and it works great (you need hboot 0.82 or less iirc)

Anyone who uses juiceplotter may be interested to see the application's CPU usage:

    (app is systempanel)

I have uninstalled it as the potential battery drain is not worth it...

Re: The Official HTC Desire Thread

Has anyone tried removing apps from the zipper ROM before flashing it? I seem to think you can just delete the apps from the zip (my list of not needed ones below)then flash as usual with it?
This guide looks ok, is it still relevant? http://www.askabouthugo.com/mobile-t...om-custom-rom/

I've no need for quite a few apps!

I imagine this would free up a tidy bit of space

Re: The Official HTC Desire Thread

To (once again) answer my own question:

It works fine, nice to remove some rubbish from the ROM.

    Got rid of:

    Gmail app
    Footprints
    Friend Stream
3D Gallery (came with Leedroid 1.9)
    'Java' (came with Leedroid 1.9)
Marketenabler 'Java' (came with Leedroid 1.9)
gmailunreadcount 'Java' (came with Leedroid 1.9)
    News (app/widgets)
    Stocks
    Twitter
    flikr
    sim tool kit
    teeter

Re: The Official HTC Desire Thread

Yup you can delete before flashing then sign it or delete the apks after flashing using a file explorer that has root access... root explorer is popular but not free, I heard android mate is free and does the job too...

mind if you use rom manager to flash a new rom, it does not need to be signed using rom manager

Re: The Official HTC Desire Thread

I've just noticed I no longer have 720p video using Leedroid 1.9 (with some apps removed by myself) strange...
EDIT: Numpty alert, you don't get 720p with H264 only the MPEG4 option

Also I've just cleaned up the plastic lens cover, popped it out with a cotton bud, gave it a rub with a cloth/toothpaste & popped it back in on the inside. Much better quality pics & I've not even done it properly

I'm still waiting for third parts back covers that include a proper glass lens cover

If you look in the back of the cover there is a space where you could probably pop some glass if you had anything suitable.

Re: The Official HTC Desire Thread

Is this the lens in the back cover or the one attached to the phone that people are cleaning? Also any way to turn the light on whilst using the camcorder, got tesla light but it turns off when you start filming and you never know I might need to take some low light footage

The one in the back cover, it scratches far too easily.

Re: The Official HTC Desire Thread

Been messing around tonight, still some work to do but happy with it so far!

    Launcher pro
    Custom wallpaper/dock icons
Extended controls (well worth 65p) (I've now got the toggles a bit smaller/less obvious on a 1x2 grid)
    Tajm (clock)
    Battery indicate from leedroid
Alternate dock images for use with launcher pro - here
