has anyone rooted thier desire ?? easy ? and do you have to restore all apps ?
Go to HTC People -> Menu Button -> View and you have options to tailor what is shown in the list. For example I have Facebook for HTC sense syning so I have FB profile pics, but i dont want to see all my friend in the contact list so turn it off here. I basically just have phone and SIM, which by inference means that they should all have phone numbers on them already.
Hope that helps
If you choose the FB option as well as the 'with numbers only' option you get numbers from people who haven't bothered/known to hide their number on facebook too, quite useful unless of course you don't want their numbers!
I think most of us have. www.unrevoked.com I think, just download the app, run it & you're done. I've never needed to wipe/restore anything after rooting or even after changing ROMs.
Did any other T-mobile users get an update this morning? I can't work out what has actually changed.
What are the disadvantages of the HTC desire hd to the htc desire if any?
I'm getting so bored of mine now Flashing ROMs has stopped interesting me, might just go back to a basic stripped down one to see if I can eek another 5 seconds of battery out of it.
Rubbish games, have to take my charger with me to work every day & charge it every night as well. The only thing I like is the fact I can whack divx/etc onto it with no encoding needed just Rockplayer (which also has its downsides)
My name is Rob & I have a problem...I want an iPhone 4

Any smartphone will need lots of charging - iPhone owners are no different in that they need chargers all the time but the difference with the desire is carry and spare battery is easy (and possible).
I have wifi on in the house at night only. Watch ~ 30mins of video per day, 40mins of MP3s, I don't turn off mobile data but signal is good so shouldn't be boosting the power causing battery drain.
I might try a different radio, using one I think I got from the Leedroid thread over at XDA & someone else mentioned poor battery
Still miss iOS!
Killing the mobile data with APNDriod (IIRC) added quite a bit of life onto mine. It's not a weak signal that's the issue - it's the contsant processing of that data. If I leave it on, I can feel the phone being a bit warmer in general.
Give it a try mate, nothing to lose!
Might we worth trying "Watchdog" too - it looks out for rogue apps eating CPU (and therefore battery) and as such is much more useful (and less dangerous) than a normal Task Killer (especially on Froyo).
Well, if I do that I lose my push Gmail... boo! I'm searching for an iPhone as I type this!
