Re: The Official HTC Desire Thread

    A quick question?

Can anyone recommend a music player with a graphics equaliser?

The volume/bass sometimes just isn't there for my tastes from the stock music player, i figured replacing the standard headphones with some sennheisers CX400 2's would give this great phone the justice but Noooooo.

    Any tips greatly appreciated.

Where did you buy your headphones from? There are a huge number of fakes out there, and this is one of the signs.

If you got them from Ebay / Play.com seller etc, check them very carefully.

I'm using the PowerAMP trial version at the moment and I have to say I will likely pay for the full version once it expires, it's very good.

No such thing as best ROM. At best there is personal preference. I would give LeeDroid a spin first.

And yes Unrevoked is the best and easiest way to root.

As for you last question. The rooting process is the same. With either 2.1 or 2.2.

My name is Rob & I have a problem...I want an iPhone 4

I used to get a day & a quarter out of mine, so charged it overnight. Then the "update" happened on T-Mob & I started getting well under a day.

On advice from here, I switched from BatteryBooster to JuiceDefender (actually I've got both running by the looks). Now on low usage I get 3 days; and never less than a full day unless doing something continuous like MyTracks.

iPhone4 is the first phone Apple's produced that matches the Desire IMO; but I'd still rather have my Desire..

Good luck with battery problem - I remember how frustrating it was not even getting a day out of it.

Re: The Official HTC Desire Thread

Quick post but - if you're buying a new Desire right now (SLCD) you might have a fair bit of trouble rooting and flashing it. I just did one for a mate and although the rooting went reasonably well (well aside from spending ages buggering about with drivers to get Revoke to recognise the phone is bloody there) clockwork recovery 2.5.0.7 didn't work properly. I couldn't flash and it constantly reported errors. In the end I find an alternate recovery and flashed that and now it's taking ROMs just fine. It has hboot 0.93.0001 just for info.

I've got an SLCD and had no trouble, not sure of my HBOOT but seem to recall it being 93?

This is a brand new Orange branded handset with a black case. Clockwork was definitely not working properly (lots of errors, unable to flash any ROM) - found someone else with the same problem with a pointer a different recovery image which works absolutely fine

    The filename is "recovery-RA-desire-v1.7.0.1-R5.1-0.93.img"

Try www.Dealextreme.com if you can stand the wait. Look at the reviews carefully though
