Eventually the menu selection starts moving up and down. I then have to take the battery out of the phone, leave it for approx 30 secs, put it back in, then start up. After this, as long as it doesn't crash or run out of battery it is ok, but having had a new motherboard in it (supposedly) It shouldn't be restarting at all IMHO...

As soon as I get back from Holiday I will be on the phone to HTC and I am actually going to try and get a new (or refurbed as new) handset instead, because before I sent it off to HTC, although it was crashing and restarting whenever I used 3G (not now), the volume down fault is equally annoying and didn't happen before!

Ive finally had enough, it reboots as soon as load a website or the navigation - its got tot he point where its no longer smart, just stupid.

gets collected tomorrow and if it doesnt come back as pristine as i have sent it (its got from the box to a case the minute it was opened) then I'll be kicking off...

its been a right pita to get sorted to be honest...

2.3 doesn't have any 'Must have' features for me though, unlike earlier releases. Not knocking it, but I dont feel like I'm losing anything by not having it.

^ x 2 - other than bass boost there's nothing in Gingerbread that makes me want it NOW.

I still haven't rooted/flashed mine - mainly because the phone is set up perfectly after months of tinkering with different apps.

    Sweet Thanks.

Now that I've rooted it though I am at a loss as to what I can actually do with it! :B

I did find it surprising how bad the FM radio was in Cyanogenmod compared to the sense based roms.

Re: The Official HTC Desire Thread

I have had my desire HD for 1 week now and it is by far the best phone I have ever had, perviously that was my 2G iPhone.

The Battery life is better than expected, the screen is fantasitc, its really nippy, the media connect features means I can stream music from my WHS just like all my other devices. Impressed!

I'm keen on the Desire S but the Incredible S also looks good with a 4 inch screen compared to the Desire S' 3.7 inch screen.

HTC are hosting some event in London tomorrow (Tuesday 12th April) and it is thought/rumoured that some new phones, possible dual-cores, will get announced. I'm waiting to see what happens before I decide what to get. If I'm not impressed its a straight choice between the Desire S and the Incredible S. And whichever one I can get cheapest on Vodafone would probably win.

you are not suppose to lose anything, you gain new features.

anyways i tried the new oxygen 2.3 rom and dont like it. it crashes my phone once every 2-3 days and when i have lots of apps open, when i go back to one i previously opened. it launches with a blank screen

Anyone had a problem with the Home button "wearing" out? Mine now needs a much firmer press to operate it than before. Its now a year old.
